Loved Puerto Morelos, Nice people, friendly helpful, humorous, perfect hotel, familiar feeling,

Breakfast sitting on roof top - very good. Different choices - but only one part of the breakfast was included in the room price. I think the breakfast that is included could be little more... For ex: yogurt /fresh fruits / muesli/ bread/ butter/ marmelade/ cheese

Internet was built up with a vouchers system - we changed password 3 times ( unfortunately we had to work some days... )

Great place with extremely friendly staff

SoHo is perfectly located in the downtown area with an easy walk to the center of town. Very quiet. Rooftop pool is great with excellent views of the ocean and the jungle behind. Great place to watch sunrises and sunsets. Not much night life in this town but we met the local workers and party with them at Don MexKal.

They bring in filtered water for the showers, toilets and sinks and one day we had to wait to the water was refilled to shower. Not a big issue at all

We liked it.

Check in was easy. The staff was friendly and polite. The shower was awesome. The bed was very comfortable. Two draw backs but not very important. No bedside light and almost no art in the entire building. The roof top pool was beautiful.

Clean with all the options, nice reception, modern, best roof infinity pool with seaside view I have been.

For the price it would be a good idea to include breakfast. TV had only 1 channel. Noises during the day from works on the other buildings. Some loud music at night.

An excellent breakfast with plenty of good coffee, generous portions of fresh fruit and a nice granola/yoghurt mix available. The swimming pool is large enough to have a proper swim in it.

Location is about 6 blocks from the main square where there are many restaurants. We did not find good places to eat close to the hotel.

Highs and lows

This hotel is brand new so the rooms and bedding etc are lovely. It’s in a great location close to all the action of PM. WiFi worked fine. The swimming pool area is the star of the show. It’s a lovely, small pool and the views are stunning...there’s a bar open for part of the day which has nice food.

We had a small balcony, but no chairs to sit on. Water must work on tanks...if your shower pressure gets too low just ask staff to fix it. The main issue we had was when paying: booking.com says you will pay in US Dollars. You don’t, you pay in Peso...and the exchange rate applied manually by the hotel is terrible. They also charge you and additional 30 peso per night “town tax” which must be paid in cash and is not disclosed on booking.com. When we complained, the staff member said “lots of people are complaining about this” but still would not do anything about it, so now I have the hassle of having to resolve with booking.com.

This hotel will be brilliant once they have finished it. Check first

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was nice and a great view. This 5 storey hotel is the highest in town and so you get a great view on the roof.

This place has just opened and there are at the moment a few issues. The drains had quite a pungent odour in the room and no hot water, the rooftop was unfinished also but will be amazing once done. It possibly was cheaper due to the issues however, but I feel they should have informed us of the unfinished roof on booking.

Awful

Staff were excellent and tried very hard to help us but they were in a property that was not finished and lacking in many details..

1. On arrival advised we could not pay in USD only peso and quoted a price that was £20 more than the booking.com price quoted - we refused top pay the higher rate so a code for USD was then found for the machine. 2. Bathroom ceiling had a huge wet patch with water seeping down the walls as we were under the swimming pool we were very concerned. We were offered another room but would of lost our sea view, so my husband looked through the inspection hatch in bathroom and was satisfied it was a leaking pipe. 3. Hot and cold taps wrong way around. 4.. Netflix is not on the TV's despite the photo's - if it is the dual purpose remote was unable to navigate to find it and the Samsung TV remote was not supplied. 5. Kept awake until 2am by extremely loud music from a nearby restaurant - we were told on complaint that it usually stops at 1am but they do have a licence until 3am on a Thur/Fri/Sat/Sun. 6. Balcony is barely a balcony no room to sit and enjoy view and if you did you would not see over the wall. 7. Building work still going on despite my question shown on booking.com info page stating it had all be finished - it most definitely hasn't level 3 had rooms still being tiled. 8. Breakfast had broccoli and carrots alongside the omelette but no fresh fruit at all despite being almost next door to a beautiful fruit shop. We were refunded 50% as we complained but this property is only good value if 50% is all that is paid.
